So I recently my radiator fan has been making alot of noise but my car has never overheated. I took it down to wheel works for some answers and they told me its an electrical issue with the fan and the fan isnt shutting off properly once it reaches certain temperatures like its suppose too. They said its nothing to worry about and to see a mechanic who specialize in electrical problems. Anyone know how much this might cost or should I just get a newfan? I definitely hate sounding like an airplane riding down the street.

I think I would start with the temperature sending unit. If it's failing then it will keep max current to the fan, or if the PCM controls the fan the sender will be telling the computer wrong information which will then put the fan on emergency mode. Have you notices any lack of engine power or loss of fuel economy as well? When the PCM thinks it's overheating it will adjust the timing and fuel delivery to try and keep the engine from melting down.

Hmm, not 100 percent on where this might be on a Lincoln LS as I'm still learning the car. I've not even given mine its first oil change yet although I have the stuff I need for it. 
On a Chevy Gen 3/4 LS engine the sensor in question is screwed into the block on the driver side just to the left and over the exhaust manifold and to change it you just unplug the wire, unscrew the old sensor and screw in the new one as quickly as you can to avoid coolant loss, then top up the overflow jug (degas bottle on the Lincoln) by however much you think you lost. I can't imagine it being any different to actually change the sensor on the LS other than the possibility of introducing air into the cooling system which would require that you follow the overly complicated coolant air bleed procedure. I also don't know specifically where that sensor would be.

My fan does this as well. It's just the computer keeping the running l engine at a consistent cool temp. I thought maybe a coolant leak, so I had my mechanic look for a leak somewhere and neither one of us ever found one. He told me not to worry until something actually malfunctions
