If it's a factory phone it will most likely never work. Those phones were analog only.

Not sure what you mean by a factory phone that wasn't installed at the factory. The factory phone uses a docking station in the armrest that's hard wired to the car. Mine worked up until a year ago when I turned it off myself after getting a new phone. The original phone's battery was starting to go bad.
