The previous owner of my 05 chromed the B pillars but it looks like it would be relatively easy to remove. My question is do you guys think it gives it a nice look or should I remove em? Ill post pics tomorrow non on this comp.

Also when accelerating I have quick gear shifts so I searched around and found info on the learning transmission so Ill disconnect the batt terminal to reset that, it gets a little annoying and im sure its not the best for my MPG. The question is tho, when I shift from park to drive the car jerks, its not the tranny but the body, almost like if you had the brake down and started pressing on the gas, could this be from the way the previous owner drove that it has learned to quickly give power and could this be corrected by the battery terminal disconnect as well?

Thanks

take the chromed pillars OFF!

as for the transmission mine (04 v8) compared to other cars seems a little jerky as well. There's a noticeable bump when I shift from a standstill and a slight delay. Everything functions so I assumed its normal. As for the learning transmission it will rev higher and shift sharper if the previous owner drove agressively, however mine seems to adapt rather quickly so drive it for a while gently and see if it changes before you unhook the battery

Yeah ive noticed that even just over the past 3 days since I bought it the shifts have slowed alot Ill check it out the next few days. Thanks and thanks for the chrome advice.

Also any cons if i end up disconnecting the batt?

never done it on an ls but on other cars you will lose your presets. ive even heard of radios locking up because of antitheft but I dont think that applies to the ls. the tranny should sort itself out. ive noticed its very quick to firm up but much slower to loosen up so stay away from pushing too hard.

The transmission remembers the last five shifts including park to reverse and park to drive. So you can disconnect the battery or manually shift at the same speed five times and or park to drive or park to reverse should help.

With the SCT Xcal2 I’m able to make minor adjustments to my custom tunes for shift schedule and line pressure. Even on the mild tune I had Torrie dial back some form my city driving. I can still chirp the tires on the 3 to 4 shift in auto shift or set the traction control light off. When I put it back to stock tune the shifts are slow and soft.

wow, do the 1st gen's have the same learning tranny?...thats crazy, i did not notice that...but it does make sense because i usually drive mine fast and when i baby it, it shifts funny...huh, thats nuts...can we get shift kits for these?...or is it unnecessary...also, what about lightweight flywheels and better aftermarket torque converters?...

you will not lose the presets and the radio will not lock up. disconect the batterie so you can reset the trans.

Just curious, why does everyone say to take the chrome pillars off? I kinda like em. Is it a bad look for the LS?
