Well i cut off my mufflers awhile back and just let them be as i dont have money to throw sumtin on there(finish)...I like the sound but am thinking of either having a shop just put on some pipe w/ the oem tips or get a res/glasspack then stock tips..If i go the gp route i want cheap..

So how would the res/gp make it sound? I dont want stock but a tad quiter then straight pipes. I only had a gp on an old car and as with all gp's they get louder as the fiberglass or w/e it is burns up..

So wouldn't gp's and straights eventually sound the same?

I've got Magnaflow Race Series stainless steel mufflers (14851) which are basically oval 5x8 glasspacks with a 2.5" (or you can get 3") true straight-thru perforated core. They sound nice, and I've gotten a number of compliments on them.
I do wish they were a tad louder though, but that can be fixed by getting rid of the third cat or some other way... ;)

IMO glasspacks would sound better than straight pipes. Depends on how much drone you can tolerate. If you're worried about glasspacks rotting out then go with some stainless steal packed magnaflows. Only problem with magnaflows is that they tend to make your car too quite unless you have other exhaust mods like removing the 3rd cat(which I'd recommend anyway)

IMHO I would not do either of those choices. I prefer a muffler like a Magnaflow or a Hooker Aero Chamber. Hookers is the way I am going when I upgrade my system. I personally think that running straight or GP's on a car like this is too loud and unimpressive, especially when the Mark is considered a luxury sport coupe, not a 50-60 era tin can.

But I am just giving my opinion which means jack when it comes to someone elses ride.

thanks for the help. I'll prob go gp's to have a little buffer there for the sound. I want "bullets" but im not paying 70 each for them

Its all good...I'm having a hard time finding sumtin sort of cheap that's in between stock-straight. The bullets would be my choice but as i said before not worth the price to me esp when i have 5k+ in hosp bills.
