Exhaust on a v-6

I just wanted to know if anyone has put any exhaust on the 3.0 liter motor and if so then what kind and how does it sound? I can't seem to find any help on this topic anywhere else.
 
I am probably gonna put some Magnaflows soon, don't know how the sound is gonna be, I just hope it's not too bad.
 
You definetly won't be sneaking up on anyone with it installed. Great if you like to hear your car. I loved mine before I sold it to put the car in storage.
 
If you put the Magnaflows on , it will have a european sound to it, using 2.5 pipe from the resonators back. Not to loud and not quite. I have 4x18 Magnaflows. My muffler guy said they are the longest ones that would fit back there. I went to Gene's Muffler Shop in Downey, CA. He does alot of custom hot rod stuff and real clean work.
 
Wow, I put on the Magnaflows today and damn it sounds sweet, like Leov said, not too loud not too quite. Very quality sound.

I haven't finished the tips yet, that's why not pictures or video, but will do that soon.

Oh yea, the car feels a lot quicker too.
 
The original exhaust was VERY restrictive. If I remeber correctly it was very small diameter after the cats... like 1.5" or 1.75" OD
 
Yea, this one is real big in comparison. Sounds great, I keep using the SST and changing gears just to hear it...:D
 
That's what i do now too since installing them a few days ago! I was kinda pissed when the exhaust guy put on 2.25" from teh resonators back, since the pipe isn't mandrel bent. I figure that the turns aren't too dramatic in the pipes, so performance couldn't be that restricted compared to using 2.5". Especially since we're talking about a vehicle that's only 252 at the crank, and naturally aspirated.

Edit: the hp number of course refers to the v8
 
Hey artur, just wondering about the v6 compared to the v8 sound. when you're at over say 60-70% throttle, is your engine louder than the exhaust? That's how it is on mine. I actually kind of like it, since I can hear both at the same time.
 
I think it sounds great for a V6, different sound from the V8, but not a bad sound. At a higher RPM about above 5000 the exhaust doesn't sound too loud, but you can still hear it and you also hear the engine. From outside it sound like a freakin Quattroporte...
