I picked up a non-LSC 98 Mark VIII this week . Only 59,000 miles and almost perfect inside and out.

My exhaust thoughts are that while I would love to get the LMS system and have all custom bent duals, I really don't want to spend that kind of money.

My other 2 options

1. Cut behind the extra "2 into 1" cat(resonator in trashcan). Have a 2 1/2 inch single pipe down the center with a y at the end and 2 1/2 inch tails with maybe some magnaflows.

2. Cut in front of the cat and replace it with a "Y" pipe and have the same system.

I know it's not the same as duals but it's bound to be better than stock and cheaper for me .

Now.....What will this sound like?? and what mufflers would you all use??

Please let me know, I value your opinions!!:)

Thanks, JOHN

Right way -- cut at the cats, install full cat back... mufflers/tailpipes = $250, labor/materials = $250, total $500.

Wrong way - just replace the mufflers with some Magnaflows or something, no need to cut pipes. mufflers/tailpipes = $250, labor = $100 maybe less, total ~$350

Any other way - waste of money

A good way...

If you can't afford Geno's system...

Cut out 3rd Cat... Get the 2 in 2 out Magnflow with X-Pipe built in and run
2.5" pipe out the rest of the way no more mufflers... You get true duals...

Under $500... Sounds great... you'll like it... done before by a few members...

Spend that kind of money? There ALL on sale right now for our tenth anniversary.

The mufflers are now $109.00 each with tips of your choice and the xx pipes are now $99.00. LIFETIME warrantied.

$317.00 total.
