About 2 years ago I decided to put a stronger transmission in my 2000 Silverado 4x4. The plan was to pull the 4L60E out and install a 4L80E. At the same time I had them installed a TCI low gearset to make up the higher 1-2 gears of the 4L80E to keep my acceleration.
I went with a company called Finish Line transmissions. I initially had problems with it, but due to other obligations it took me a long time to get it back to them, while I tried to work with it using my programming system. When they got it back, they found that they had inadvertently installed drag racing plates inside that caused it to shift way too harsh. My programming attempts to mitigate the shifts caused other parts to wear prematurely.
They fixed their mistake, replaced all worn parts, and owned up to the fact that they made a mistake. The only cost to me was shipping there and back. The trans is now working perfectly, shifts perfectly, and is operating the way I wanted it to. They even helped walk me through some other problem with the trans that wound up being caused by me.
I know this is a Ford board and FLT does Chevy transmissions, but they also do the T56 which is used across Chevy, Ford and Dodge. Plus I figure some of you will have Chevy trucks. The reason I selected them, a guy named Parrish used them in his 1200+HP twin turbo Silverado. Every time he broke the transmission they built him, they fixed what broke until he had a transmission that wouldn't break. They learned how to build them by working with this guy, and they know their business. I almost never plug a company, but these guys gave me the best customer service I've ever had with a company.
