Error on Nav System

Hello...I have a problem with my nav system in my lincoln LS, it shows nothing and tells me to insert DVD map, but when i do it shows CD error, has anyone had the same problem?? Please help!!!

Are you putting the CD into the right slot in the trunk? Or are you just putting it in the in-dash CD changer?

Are you putting the map DVD into the DVD reader in the trunk? It has to go there, not in the CD changer behind the screen.

Yes...but this morning when i started the car and hit the map button it did not show anything, except error message..is this common? Later on the day i started the car and map system works fine, so just curious to know how common is this and should i be worried, it has 30 day warrenty!!!

I have some kind of problem with the CD changer on mine. It messes up fairly often when changing from one CD to another, and I get CD error. I took it in while it was doing this, but after they turned it off and restarted, it wouldn't do it for the dealer. I guess I have to wait till it fails completely, but it is very annoying.
I have never had any kind of map error or problem. Maybe you try to carefully clean the map disc and see if that helps?

is the map dvd scratch or anything, this is not a comon issue with the nav at all, make the dealer get you a new dvd haha....
