engine noise in cabin

Have a 2005 LS. Love the car but I can hear the engine and valve train inside the car pretty well. It almost seems like a plug or something is missing from the firewall. Anyone else ever have this issue? My wife can't even hear it, but I detect every little noise in every car I own. Just sounds like a hole in the firewall.

Check the whole firewall and see if any of the wiring grommets got pushed in or out.
