Engine bay temp...

Let say its 80 degrees outside. Anyone know how hot it may get in the engine bay at peak, idling?

I'd say around 150ish... the coolant is sitting at 180-200 degrees and the oil is 200+.... but as far as ambient temp I'd guess around 150....

Hang an oven thermometer in there in different spots and see
The wife may not like you taking it from the oven though

I've seen IAT temps 20 degree's above ambient.

my engine bay temps are in the 200's texas weather when it was 100 deg outside I shot my alt at about ~225 with a laser thermometer. then again my bay has poor circulation since the motor is raised 1" to keep the oil pan safe
