My keyless entry broke off the keyring. Common I know. Anyway the old lady washed it along with my jeans. Took it apart and dried it out. Works kinda half ass, but here is the problem. I am a cop. I come out of the store the house where ever and the windows and sunroof are all wide open. Man this has got to stop. Sometimes I leave a gun in the car to keep from carrying everywhere I go. So I pulled the battery out of the remote and it quit. Any suggestions?
 
cant you just get a new remote and get it programed to your car?
 
Actually I should have asked is it the OEM remote
 
Sounds like you need a new remote. They are in ebay all the time. If you have an '03+ LS you can program the remote yourself as long as you have two working remotes.
 
Just to make sure you know why your windows and sunroof are open. You are "pressing" the unlock on fob for more then 5 seconds. Inacting the feature called "Global windows" This is a cool thing in summer when you wanna get 115 degree heat out of car.
 
yup, your factory remote is keeping the lock button pressed down which is rolling your windows down, get a new remote and the problem will be fixed.
 
Never thought to do that. Just assumed was a dealer thing. Got one online for 24.95 thanks to all that answered.

Programming new keys requires two already working keys.

Programming new remotes has no such requirement.
