Hey all,
What is a good price on the installation of the eibachs and alignment of my vehicle? I want to have some sort of idea before I go looking around for shops to do the install... Thanks!

do the install yourself and then have someone do the alignment. the install is pretty easy. someone should do a tech article on it...hint hint.

+1, but if you just cant do it on your own it should run you no more maybe a bit less than 200$ in labor.

Yeah I was going to guesstimate on around 250-300. But, that's a price quote from a few performance shops that are known for quality work.

It don't take long at all and all the tools except the compressor can be rented if you don't own them.

The compressor can be purchased for about 12 bucks.

Thanks guys!... Yea if there was an installation guide in the tech section I could do it... Does anyone have the time/willingness to type out a guide or point me in the right direction?

I have seen one from somebody but when I click on the link the files are no longer available. Sorry. its pretty self explanatory I guess.

Jack it up and unbolt the shock/strut from the suspension, then work on the bolts on top and pull the unit out.

I'm sure I left somethings out but someone will probably make note to that:D

Then re-installation is just compressing the spring and reversing the process pretty much but make sure to inspect everything before you put it back together.

lol... thanks for the tip! Yea... i'm gonna need a little more detailed than that! lol... Anyone got a guide?

I copied and pasted directions from Alldata, I have it as a word document with pics, I dont know how to attatch it here. If tou want give me your email address and I will forward it

Notes

Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly Removal and Installation CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect the performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

2. NOTE: The hex holding feature can be used to prevent turning of the stud while removing the nut. Remove the nut and disconnect the stabilizer bar link. Discard the nut.

3. Remove the nut and bolt and disconnect the shock absorber and spring assembly.· Discard the nut and bolt.4. Partially lower the vehicle.

5. Remove the right upper shock mount cover.

6. Remove the retainers and the left upper shock mount cover.

7. WARNING: Do not remove the center nut. This nut holds the upper spring mount in place and if this nut is removed the spring tension will be released. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. Remove and discard four nuts. Remove the shock absorber and spring assembly. 8. CAUTION: Make sure the shock absorber lower bushing end caps are in place before installing the bolt and nut. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly

Disassembly

WARNING: All vehicles are equipped with gas pressurized shock absorbers which will extend unassisted. Do not apply heat or flame to the shock absorbers during removal or component servicing. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury. The shock absorber and spring assembly is under extreme load. Do not attempt to disassemble the shock absorber and spring assembly without using a spring compressor. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.

CAUTION: Suspension fasteners are critical parts because they affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure can result in major service expense. A new part with the same part number must be installed if installation is necessary. Do not use a new part of lesser quality or substitute design. Torque values must be used as specified during reassembly to make sure of correct retention of these parts.

Remove the shock absorber and spring assembly.

CAUTION: Over tightening the vise can damage the shock absorber tube. Mount and mark the shock absorber and spring assembly.
1 Position the shock absorber and spring assembly in a suitable holding device.
2 Mark the upper mount, spring and shock absorber for assembly reference.

NOTE: If installing a new spring, make sure the part number is correct. Refer to the Vehicle Certification (VC) label for the correct spring code. Compress the spring.
1 Install an appropriate spring compressor.
2 Compress the spring.

While holding the shock absorber rod, remove and discard the nut.

Remove the upper mount and dust boot as an assembly.

Carefully remove the spring and spring compressor.
Assembly

NOTE: If a new shock absorber, spring or upper mount is installed, the new part should be marked in the same place as the old part to make sure the assembly is correctly aligned.

Inspect the lower and upper spring seats for damage.
Inspect the spring insulator for wear or damage. Install a new upper mount if necessary.
NOTE: If installing a new spring make sure the part number is correct. Refer to the Vehicle Certification (VC) label for the correct spring code. Inspect the spring for nicked or scratched paint. If the paint is nicked or scratched, install a new spring.
If removed, place the shock absorber into the vise.

Position the shock and spring compressor onto the strut.

Position the upper mount and dust boot onto the spring. Make sure the marks made during disassembly, Step 2, are lined up.

Install a new nut.
Remove the spring compressor.
Install the shock absorber and spring assembly.

I just replaced all 4 struts on my ls yesterday I took me about a hour n half on front n hour on rear to put my stock springs on the new struts on. It is not that hard

Paid $245 for everything
Eibach springs
Installation
alignment
better look / handling :D

I paid around $400 labor at a local Ford dealership last year. That included the 4 wheel alignment.

Is that with the springs added in?

Thats allot unless you got the factory camber caster kit along with the alignment.

When I asked about it they all included the alignment in the price I gave unless there were extras such as the camber caster kit needed, but even still you can order those from eibach and such cheap.
