I'm sure this topic has been covered but when I try to search it seems to pull up everything under the sun.

My Toreador '96 has no EGR tube. The EGR valve is there but there is a block plate in front of it. Of course I have a CEL. What should I do about this? I know there's a tuner place I can bring it to that will do a basic tune and get rid of the CEL for around $300. Is that the best choice? Any help would be appreciated!

IMO... yes...
You'll need a tune to delete the code, so since you know it'll cost $300 already. I'd say get an Xcal 2 unlocked online and go ahead and get a REAL tune done on it. You can pick those up for around $100 or so they may be more

Casey tuned my car @ APS Autoworks in Shakopee. My buddy had his Crown Vic tuned by him also and the shift schedule is spectacular. Actually, I know a lot of guys here local that have a Casey tune. He's pretty good at it.

I was going to take mine there when I get the headers installed, friend of mine had his S/C 98 MK8 tuned there as well. Havnt heard anything bad from them.
