Eddie or whom on replacement struts?
My strutmasters front air suspension strut is leaking after 2 years no warranty or discount offered so they have lost my business. Eddie and Arnotts look like the same strut? Arnott's are suppose to be built from the ground up in Germany?
I know most do not like Arnott? I am using Eddies rebuit compressor currently.

Um....... American Air IS Eddie....

Arnott SUCK. Dont even think about them, except MAYBE for the rear bags.

Eddie is who I went through for my coil conversion. Very happy experience and no problems so far. Max is great for new parts and Jamie for used ones.

Arnotts are built with all new components and that's why Eddie sells their stuff along with some of his specialties. He wrote some time back that, on a technical level, the OE's that Max sells are the best, but not everyone wants to shell out that much money (Max still has a few left I believe). I buy all my air suspension stuff thru Eddie as he has the support, even after the sale.

I went OEM and glad I did. I know they will last another 10 years.

With rebuilds you have no clue on the life, mainly the internal shock absorber part and with Arnott, well your lucky if they make it more than 2 years.

In the end if plan to have the car for more than 5 years you will end up spending the same. Either new and be done with it or....

I just purchase a new front strut from eddie, a couple of weeks ago. It was in a strutmasters box. The bag is made by continental. My arnott rear bags, are made by phoenix which is in Germany.

The new ones I put on had the silver cap on the top and the name Arnott molded into the air bag. All the internals etc are new mfg. and I got them from Eddie.

I put two new OEM Ford bags on the front of my car last fall and am glad I did...
Even though my car is low mileage, the front shock portion of the struts had bound up and it rode like a brick. The bags still held air perfectly thou :( I'm keeping these in hopes to mod them some day with new inserts and some other custom stuff etc... :)

Icarus...if you bought brand new OEM from a dealer last fall then they must be under the 12/12 warranty...unless you drive more than 12000 miles in a few months. Get them replaced...parts only if you installed them....Oh you are in Canada mmmm I forgot the miles to kilo's formula.... 1.6 or something like that..... anyway they are still available at a nice price..$394.05 list and LVC is $339.87 each. I like what Unity says "In the end if plan to have the car for more than 5 years you will end up spending the same. Either new and be done with it "

I just remember a year or so ago when there seemed to be a short supply of bags.. I thought that maybe the OEM's were gone.

That is a very good price Max..

Also I'm not sure if he is yet but Eddie was going to be selling Remanufactured bags again.. At least that's what he was telling me last summer.

New gen 2 style bags are still available... they cost a pretty peny though.

They do.

But weighing doing the job once for 6-10 years versus doing it every 2-3 years, consider the additional wrench time and it really turns into a long term savings using OEM.

I wish I could afford OEM but alas I cannot. I bought thru Eddie, hope this lasts longer than 2 years.
Thanks for the replies.

I really wish I had the extra cahs to buy a set of brand new bags and stash them under my bed.... I have a spare set on the wall, but I would like to have another!

Sorry Max, I posted that info backwards...

I replaced the low mileage original struts in my car with new OEM ones because the originals had bound up internally... It wasn't the new ones that bound up, they are doing great :)

Eddie sells strutmasters. I don't care what anyone says as I ordered parts & they were strutmasters. besides this people like Eddie & his service.

The strutmaster I purchased from eddie were new. I asked him about purchasing my old unit and he said it was not worth it, to rebuild the old units. I wonder if you can purchase just the bag? My old unit still worked fine, as far as the shock was concerned. Its just that the bag started leaking at the bottom fold.

I don't think anyone or Eddie is denying that he sells Strutmasters....

Sorry, but my conversation with Eddie is they are Arnott's air struts and will come in his box.
