Hello all.

This is the first time I have posted on the forums here.

I thought I would share an upgrade I did that I thought was well worth it.

On my 03 LS v8 w/ factory Nav&THX the standard brake pads didn't really feel as good as they used to. I had taken it to the dealership back before the warranty expired and had them check it out, but they said everything was working and they couldn't find any problems in the system. So regardless of whether it was just me or there was something wrong - I decided to upgrade the brakes a bit figuring it was money (<$400) better spent on the brakes than on other things.

I found that the EBC made some rotors and pads for it, and went with the Red Stuff pads... you can see pic here where I had them out of the box, sorry I don't have any after I put them on and I am travelling at the moment, maybe some pics later. http://home.earthlink.net/~johntomferg/Lincoln/LincolnLS.htm

Anyway, just to let you guys know, the brake feel is much improved in my opinion and it definitely feels like it stops faster (thought not roughly, the braking is still smooth and even depending on pedal pressure).

Also, I have lost the annoying squeal that I would sometimes get with the semi-metalic pads - these appear much much quieter.

Anyway, since I have lurked on here in the past and been provided entertainment and knowledge through posts, I figure it is time to start sharing back. :D

Lloyd,

We carry the K&N Aircharger Kit and the EBC items. For the EBC rotors/pads and K&N you're looking at around $700 shipped for that setup. It is a good investment.

Yes, I did not include the cost of the K&N in my figure...and you are right, it was closer to $500 - though the shipping was "free" where I ordered it.

But still well worth it.

I am more impressed with the brake upgrade than the K&N - though the intake does make it sound meaner.

I think I am going to go with a new exhaust system before I do the breaks. I am planning on the exhaust in the next month or two

Nice to hear that about the EBC. I plan on doing my front w/ the slotted/dimpled and the red pads once I get the money. Followed by of course the rears. I really hate my brakes right now. I would do the whole deal front and rear, but I need 4 new tires aswell.
