Just an FYI. I bought a set of chrome LS wheels off eBay member OEM_Wheels. My advice is to make sure you know what you are buying. The wheels I bought arrived and they are horrible. The chrome is peeling / corroding off 2 of the wheels. I am guessing this guy works at a Ford Dealership and is selling wheels customers have brought back and have replaced under warranty. Make sure you ask for close up pictures of all the wheels.

I had a big falling out with him (OEM_WHEELS) last summer. He sold me some LSE wheels. 3 weeks later he said they were sent. They never were, he admitted that he doesnt have them and was waiting for a set to show up. Hes a scammer!!

I disputed with PayPal and got my money back, but he didnt want to refund my money at all.

I had a similiar situation. Last year when i had my '02 i ordered some chrome take offs. The pictures looked good, but after awhile when they hadnt shipped yet i contacted him and he said that "somebody" must have moved them around as they are now scuffed up. Luckily he sent me my money back. I wouldnt ever buy any rims off eBay unless they are brand new never installed oem wheels still in factory packaging. Its a long shot but too many scammers out there.

I guess I should have asked about him before buying. I have sent him an email asking what he will do about it but I don't expect a reply. I will submit a dispute with Paypal, but doubt that will get me anywhere. Gonna send the wheels to a local chroming place and just have them redone.

In his defense he resolved this issue with me. The moderators can delete this if they like.

Why would the moderators delete that? Don't we need to know if there's a scam artist out there?

Newbie here....
Lots of interesting things here like 120/ea coils"prone to fail" , mentions of the "50,000 mile curse...I might start worrying about me buying an 02 a year and a half ago.Although only 37,000 miles so far.
Just wondering , I do have one wheel turning bad like that. All the road salt no doubt.Dare i wonder what those chromies are going for on e-bay?

Is this the guy out of cleveland, ohio? If so I bought some from him and picked them up no problem. Wheels were perfect and "as described"

You were lucky. He had money in his account. I had a problem with a vendor never delivering the product. Went through the dispute procedure and Paypal found in my favor. Despite the so called buyers protection, nothing was refunded through Paypal as the vendor had no money in his account and left eBay. Fortunately I had paid through Paypal with a credit card. When they investigated the funds were refunded and charged back to Paypal. Lesson learned, keep your Paypal account low and charge through a credit card. Much safer than depending on Paypal to refund fraudulent sales.

I had a problem similar to George's a couple years ago when I bought an out-of-print record album on eBay. Paid with a cash transfer through Paypal (it was less than $10), but did not receive my merchandise. Logged a dispute with Paypal and won, but never got a refund. My advice is to go over the feedback for the seller before you buy, and if they have more than 1 or 2 recent negatives, don't buy from them.

OEM_WHEELS has a pretty good feedback rating on eBay. He's only got 7 negatives out of 5,935 transactions. The vast majority of the people who buy from him are satisfied. Nevertheless, its Buyer Beware out there!
