I've done a search....

I bought a factory in-dash Alpine from a forum member (thanks to LVC). I didn't realize until I tore into the dash that the mounting bracket was missing.

Do any of you LVC members have the factory bracket they want to sell?

If not, do any members want to take some pics and provide a couple dimensions?

I have my project cars in stored in a fabrication shop, with a few dimensions, pics and wasting 14 gauge, I'll try my hand at fabricating my own (at least they will be hidden.

Anybody have any other ideas?

It apparently a code is required to get it to function, I'd guess a trip/call to the local dealership will take care of that.

Thanks guys.

dont you still have the brackets on YOUR radio that you are replacing?
its asking for a code? i dont think i have ever seen a ford radio need a security code

No sound system was in the LS when I bought it, it had a cheap single DIN insert. Until I torn into the dash I didn't realize it was missing (should have guessed). I liked the car and didn't consider the hassle of putting a factory deck back in.

I don't know that is it asking for a code. It powers up (shows the time) and loads CD's however it won't turn on. I did alot of reading last night and found a thread that mentioned several fuses being tied to the stereo. I will have to sort thru more of the threads and see if I can narrow it down.

it sounds like the acc circuit is not turning on (the wire that powers up when the key is on) if the time is showing and it will load cd's, the constant circuit is fine ( the wire that stays on all the time to keep presets and the time)

it does sound like there is a fuse blown

all radio's that need a code will display CODE when you atempt to turn them on

Yep I haunt the local wrecking yards and even take an annual 4 day vacation with a couple guys to a lost wrecking yard of dreams to pull pieces for my 32 pickup and my 52 pontiac. However the LS must not have been popular up here in Montana, none in the local yards and I've only seen a half dozen running around here in Billings.

I'll keep trying, thanks.

Junk yard.

Yeah, figured you already knew. But that's not a part you can buy. They do make a double din install kit now, so there may be people who won't need them anymore once they do a double din. Keep an eye out for people doing that upgrade. They might be able to sell you their's.
