i have an appointment with my local guy tomorrow. im hoping for 235-240 rwhp and for the car to fully utilize the 4.10s. with a stock intake what do you think we should set the shifts at and run the motor up to? I dont think i have enough intake to run to 7000. what other things should i tell my tuner to do or about?

edit- tomorrow is actually later this morning btw LOL

You will make peak power around 6000-6200 rpm but spin it all the way to 7000 to see how much the power drops off. That will tell us when you will need to shift. Dyno results will depend on type of dyno, IAT temps and timing and air/fuel ratio. Your mods doesn't say you have a tune so if that's the case expect to be pig rich at WOT.

Edit: I see you are getting dyno tuned. Make sure he takes out torque management and increases the line pressure for firmer shifts. You will most likely make best power between 12.8 and 13.3 A/F ratio at WOT and around 27-29 degrees of timing. Also, see if he can modify the IAT timing table so the car doesn't retard as much timing when the temps get hot.

after me and my bud with the cobra got the run around today, and being put off till Wednesday of this week after being booked for an appointment for over a month, ive decided to just go with a tune from BOC for 125$. i plan on modding my car more with the stall and a cobra intake soon, and whatever tune my local guy would do for $3-400 would be obsolete and a waste of money. the one downside is now i have to wait for a tune to show up in my email, and we had planned on going to the drags on friday night to test our new stuff. So whatever, piss on that local guy, he treated me and my buddy like a couple punk kids anyway. Does anybody have a tune i can use?? :D

Who were you going to use? Local to Wichita? I've never had good luck with ANY of the Wichita guys. Next best bet is either KC or Tulsa\OKC its about the same drive time either way

Good luck with your BOC tune. Regardless, with a mail-order tune you are going to be 15-20 rwhp shy of where you could be. I'm running mid 12s A/F ratio at wot. I'm going to have them tweak the A/F and pull the lock-up in 3rd back a bit. With a mail-order you are stuck like chuck. I did run mid 13s on a mail-order though. Looking at my dyno graph I gained almost 20rwhp up top running fat with 98degree temps. Ready for a dyno yet? :p

Now if you have an Xcal, you could play around with the tune a bit and get it closer. The Cobra intake is a high-revver, the stocker is not. Spinning it to the moon with the stocker is a waste of et in my opinion. Shift a little earlier with the stocker because power dies off sooner. Trust me, I tested this at the track before the swap. YMMV
