In the door jamb on the front jamb there is a brace that keeps the door from swinging out too far. It is inside the door itself and has two bolts on the jamb.
Mine broke at the jamb bolts, strange I never did anything to cause it, very easy on doors, the metal fractured. Does anyone know how to replace this piece? Anyone have this piece? :)

your gonna have to take door panel off and remove the speaker, make sure windo is up. go to ford to get the part, not sure of the name but just show them, i think its 40 to 50 bucks. it goes insde the door through the holes and bolts in, easy good luck

does the door start to hang low once this brakes... i have kids and they dont seem to know how to open a door with out opening it all the way! once this brakes what happens??

no door doesnt hang it just swings freely which on a windy day has the potential of doing damage, and if your not used to not having one its easy to slam your door too hard or to open it too far hitting the car next to you

oh i see.... i could see it damaging the front fender as well if the door opened to far... that would suck!

Here's what happens

if you don't have this device the door swings until the front edge of the door stops it swinging outward, which will damage the front edge of the door, ugh.

looks like the door arm is ok and just the forward pin bolt hinge broke. Maybe i can find a hinge and re-pin the arm. :D
