door panel removal

I love my LS!! But I am and have always been an audiophile, I must replace the stock system in my '04 V6. I need some pointers in removing the door panels. I found several screws along the bottom of the door but removing them got me nowhere. I dont want to damage any of the interior by removing it incorrectly so some advise would be greatly appreciated. I will be installing Alpine component 5x7 in the front doors, either 6x9's or component 6.5 in the rear deck and an Alpine 9851 in the dash. I have read the proceedure for removing the stock head unit but am still a bit apprehensive about removing the air vents... do they really just pull out? I gave a little tug but really didnt want to break them so I never got them all the way out. Also is there anywhere to get an interior colored mounting kit? Those generic ABS kits just look cheap!

Then just pop the panels off. May have to wedge something in there to aide in popping the first couple plastic connectors. 1st time is a whore, it gets easier the more you do them.

Dual air vent at the top of the radio stack does just pull out / unsnap. Same with the surround for the ashtray.

Thanks a ton man.... the doors shouldnt be a problem now. Any advise on a nice head unit install? I have seen a couple of decent ones here on LVC... but would really like the color to match the factory.
