Door combo + antenna install q's

OK, I have two questions


The first is odd. If I let the car sit overnight then try the doorcode, nothing happens. If I stop to go into the atm, when I come out I can use it. Is this a timeout thing or is there something wrong?

Secondly, I have a new antenna with the plastic teeth thingamajig. I've never had the time to look at how to install it, wondering if anyone has a writeup, or is it really simple?

Pretty simple. Turn the radio on. Remove the key from the ignition. remove the antenna assy. take the side plate off of the reel assy. remove the remaining tooth pieces. reinstall the side plate and then reinstall the antenna assy. leave the top outside nut off. turn the key and the radio on. thread the new antenna teeth in as far as you can without forcing. turn the radio off. Install the outer nut.
