Is there a way to make the door chime shut up when the key is turned in the ignition and the door is open? :shifty: There has to be a wire somewhere that can be either cut or fed some power to make the door chime just shut up! Anybody have a wiring diagram for the chime module? (if the LS has one)

I know where the speaker is for the chime in the back of the instrument cluster. A little heat from a soldering gun and it could be removed with little trouble, but I do kinda like having a reminder if I leave the lights on, or if there is a problem.

BTW, did anyone else know that the power adjustable steering wheel doesn't work if you unplug the instrument cluster? :shifty:

still dings

drives me nuts too! I wish there was a way to control the lights going on with open doors... but I havent searched that one in the manual yet

Just trick the door into thinking its shut by closing the latch, just remember to "open" the door before you close it.

Do you mean the constant chime with the key in ignition and door open? If I turn the key to Run then that one is quiet for me.

Or do you mean the one that chimes 4 times if you start the car before buckling your seat belt? I find that one annoying. I guess I just need to learn to buckle up 3 seconds earlier than I do now. I tried disabling the seat belt minder but that seems to only affect the one that beeps at you after driving for a minute or two with no seatbelt.

The one that chimes when the door is open. God its annoying! If you're trying to do anything in the car with the radio on, detailing or fixing something, and the door open, it just dings and dings until you go insane!

I'm thinking the best way would be a manual switch on the door switch wire.

Both of mine are gen II and neither chimes while the key is in the run position.
