how do you remove the plastic cover from the dome lights. i dont want to break them

If you look around the cover there should be a small indentation in it between the cover and the base. Insert a small screwdriver in that spot, and gently push inward while pulling on the cover.

I'm going from my experience with FORDs in general, and not specific to the LS.

thats the first thing i was looking for, ut its flushed all the way around

for the rear dome light for a 2000 ls the entire dome light housing down. thats what i did. their are little metal clips that keep it up. if u pull one side out the it will come out easier. for the front i was told u gotta un screw the visor clips so u can drop the headliner down some. go here http://www.lskoncepts.com/Front and Rear Dome Light Removal and Installation.pdf
