It’s winter, and I just tried to have a shop do a coolant flush and they managed to screw it up so now I would like to do it myself.... :bash:

So typically during the summer Ill drain the coolant from the motor/radiator/hoses/reservoir, remove the thermostat and then hook a hose up to it.

I’ll run the motor for 10-15 min, then drain the water out of the hoses and radiator. Reassemble with a new thermostat and fill with straight coolant till I get a 50/50 mix. I’ll continue to top off with diluted and run the motor with the crossover plug out to burp the system.

Like I said before its winter so I can’t run a hose on to my driveway, what would you guys do? This is on my 01 TC by the way.

Drain all, fill with old milk/soda/coolant jugs,Run motor, drain again, add coolant mixture...have a nice day :-)

I like to use a citrus wash to clean things out. Amazing what junk gets cooked in there.
