what is the best way to discharge the ac system without a vacuum pump? pressing in the relief valves or unbolting the manifold? looking to replace the ac compressor today and need to discharge it before i can swap the new one, after i replace it im going to take it to a ac shop and have them charge it, im just tryin to make one trip.. thank you

ok so i ate a couple chocolate chip cookies and grew some balls to press the valves in, guess what, NO PRESSURE at all, all this time lol so obviously i have a leak somewhere, and probably to the point where i ruined my ac system, as i right now im just going to go ahead and take out the compressor since theres no pressure in the system anyways ill check back it, but just wanted to say, no pressure out each valve which could mean a leak and it wont hold the vacuum

I didn't think doing that would release the pressure. Either way, when you remove the lines from the Compressor it will discharge if theres anything in there. (wear sunglasses or saftey glasses) :D
