:feedback Has anyone out there had a dealer installed remote start on a 2004 LS?
Does your easy entry/exit drivers seat work with the remote? I am going to a CAMVAP hearing next week and Ford is saying that the remote starter is not a authorized accessory for the 04 LS. Numerous problems with the car. Transmission hesitates from reverse to drive on cold. Dealer claims it's not the solenoids. Cruise control speed wont stay at set speed. Gas milage has deteriorated since the "correct as built data" was programmed for the third time. There is also a long list of electrical problems. Some of them get fixed, but there always seems to be another problem cropping up.

Gold in hot weather

I had the remote starter installed 3 months ago in my 05 LS8 by the dealer at purchase. It took them numerus tries to get it working properly. The remote starter is an authorized accessory for the 04-05 LS. I still have an 04 sales brochure and it is listed. Easy entry/exit drivers seat works like it normally does.

Dealer had the car for almost one month of the first two that I owned the car to get the remote starter to where it is now. I also have the 04 brochure but one has to beware of the dreaded disclaimer. I am Canadian and it used to be listed as an option for 04 on Ford.ca. They took it off after I made my CAMVAP appeal.
Just to clarify. . . Your easy entry/exit seats work when you remote start the car without pushing the memory button on the door after you sit in the car? Ford is telling me that it should not have been sold as an option on the 04 because of the seat memory problems. Still looking to see if somebody has it installed on an 04.

D.E.I. remote start systems

hey all im kinda new here but i am a ls fanatic specifically the lse 2004 i chose to not have remote start (if it was even an option) there is a aftermarket company called viper alarms that make a product 791xv that can be purchased at a automotive audio / alarm store it has remote start trunk release and more as well as if you live in a city like brooklyn where you do not have a driveway it informs you on the screen where you care was hit or tried to break into its a bit pricey 500$ area but the factory alarm is probably similiar if not more and i do not trust lincoln for aftermarket items hope this helps email me with more questions if needed good luck!

From what I under stand from the post before is the factory memory option. This WILL NOT WORK with an aftermarket alarm.

I install these all day long viper python both systems. Have tryed many times to get this to work never worked 100% right. Becuase there are 2 users that can have differnt settings and the alarm (aftermarket) does not know wich user you are and it has no way to tell your factory computer wich user you are. Only what I have found so far.

Thanx for your input. Page 3 of Powercode remote starter manual states
"Additionally, Your PowerCode system will also control the extended functions offered by the factory supplied RKE system (i.e. Memory seat control and/or Power sliding doors).
It looks like nobody has a dealer installed remote starter that will work seat memory. I stuck with the "Ford" parts because I didn't want to void my warranty.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to let everyone know that I have a Ford remote start (the "silver" one, that is, RMST and RKE, but not security) in my new 06 and it works just fine. Memory seats work fine too; a couple wires need to connect to the memory seat recall buttons in the door. The system recalls the memory by "pressing" the button. It works as it is intended to. Each of the two remotes is permanently linked to one of the memory settings (you cannot program a specific remote to a specific memory like the factory RKE).

The remote does not have a trunk button, so to open the trunk, you press and hold the unlock button. But that means that you cannot use this trick to open the windows. They thought of that too. You press and hold both the unlock and lock buttons to open the windows and sunroof, same as pressing and holding the unlock on the factory RKE. The range on this system is much better than the factory RKE, mostly because of the winshield-mounted antenna I suppose. I think that with a competent installer, there is no reason it shouldn't work in the 04. I have the install instructions if anyone wants them.
