I'm really ticked right now at my LS so forgive me.....every morning I have the same issue.....no heat, stereo acts up as per my previous thread. But after work I leave and the heat works perfect, no issues. Doesn't matter if I change any settings on the climate control. Will the DCCV act up like this?

Or am I looking at the stereo issue and no heat on cold mornings related?

"Officially" as of last night, I have now joined the "No heat" threads !

Not fun diving home in -30C weather with nothing but cold air available.

Hello "trouble-shooting" mode.

I'm with ya....from the threads I've read when the DCCV goes out it's out, not like mine is doing where it works when it's above 10 degrees but it gets under that I get cold air.

Coolant is fine, car temp runs normal, no over heating, no leaking any where.

I'm ready for a stiff drink at the moment.

So much help and information here on LVC plus have the GEN I workshop manual on DVD.

We'll get through this problem as well.

I hate throwing money and parts at problems.

Better then rocks and pitch folks like I'm thinking off..haha

Replace or clean out the DCCV. A common problem. I cleaned my last one, going strong for 2.5 years now. Clean and flush system, then bleed system. Radio is most likely clockspring, your cruise control will act funny too.

Nope, not clockspring, the lights on the radio will not turn on until the cabin is warmed up, turn the ignition off and restart.

The cruise works perfect every time.

After the cabin warms up the radio will then work correctly, light up and steering controls will work.

The radio gives me a No Configuration error....it's getting swapped soon from my JVC I just got.

But I wonder if this heating issue is involved with this some how. I can tell you exactly when I will have heat and when I don't. It's not a hit and miss thing....i can wake up, look at my outside temp and know I won't have heat.

Also never have gotten any error codes from the Temp Control.

So tonight I had heat...it was 14 out.

So here's some things I did.....

I tried to do the DATC Module Self Test.....I tried every combo of defrost and off then auto to start it. Nothing. It will not run the self test. I reset it by pressing wiper heater and off then auto.

I also noticed tonight that my aux coolant pump is not working again. I would idle, no heat, rev motor I have heat. This doesn't always happen.

Am I missing something to get this thing to do a self test?

I'm leaning toward the DATC is going out, I don't think it's talking to the DCCV or the Aux pump.

I think I read some where that if I unhook the connector to the DCCV that I will just get full heat?

To start the self test on the DATC.

while in Off mode.

press, OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously.
immediately press, AUTO after releasing the OFF & FLOOR.

It should begin a series of test from 25 down.

when finished it will show DTC errors for any present faults,
if no faults, it will lite up the entire display, allowing you to see all possible displays.

Any other button to exit, which hard boots it and finishes it by leaving it OFF.

AUTO to rerun and it will be back to 75F default settings, blower motor will run on high for a few minutes.

Every time you exit from the self test mode it clears any DTC's and recalibrates to defaults.

If you can't even get the DATC to go into the self test or you are not able to properly control anything, it's most likely already done for.
There are all sorts of pin-out tests for different faults but most just pick up a used DATC from a scrapper and try from there.

I know where there a few junk ones sitting....I think this weekend I'm going a huntin for a controller.
