Hey All,
I'm looking for the best way to remove the pieces of trim on the dash (ex. around the shifter up to the middle air vents) because I want to do some detail cleaning. If this has been discussed before then I would like to be linked or if someone could give me a speedy version I would appreciate it. I would like to remove the pieces with the least pressure and least chance of damage.... Or is it just as simple as flathead screwdriver and pull around the edges?... thanks!

2000 LS V8.. I didn't think it made much of a difference. I thought the dash was set up basically the same...

Thanks... I had previously looked at that tech article but with the lack of pictures I wasn't 100 percent sure of myself... Thanks again for the advice!!

Yet... I guess I wanted to know if there are like tabs behind the dash pieces that hold it in place and if there were a technique anyone had found especially helpful

I haven't worked on a 1st Gen LS, but on the 2nd Gens, it's all friction fit except for the parts where there are screws/bolts (but, I guess, technically, they're held by friction, too ;) ). Don't just yank on stuff; firm, gradual pressure will do the trick.

lol.. I'll make sure i'm firm yet gentle. It needs some cleaning between the creases on the pieces. I just inherited this car form my mom and she wasn't... well... as caring of a LS as one would hope... :-/

Thanks to both of you for your helpful advice! I appreciate it! The diagram is proving helpful... thanks!
