Well I'm sick of paying my loan every month so I'm trying to sell my truck and buy something a little cheaper, I found this on craigslist its right down the street from and seems like a pretty good deal. I know its FWD but I need something thats decent in the snow and I had one before and it wasn't too bad. So what do you guys think?

Continentals are ok but the trannys suck we sold a 98 here on our lot with the 4v and it couldnt keep trannys in it but owner was also a retard

I never had any problems with my 98, other then the coils going bad, until I gave it to my sister and she blew the engine up, the water pump went bad and she must not have seen the check engine light flashing and I would assume the screen said engine overheating but she just kept driving and then noticed the steering wheel was hard to turn but she just kept driving, it had around 150,000 miles on at that time all it needed was a water pump the bearing or something went bad and the pulley fell off.

I have had a couple of the Conti's and I had no problems with them. They get great MPG's. And that looks to be in good shape. I would buy it.

I wonder if they make a shift kit for them cause I remember my old one's tranny use to slip a little when down shifting when going WOT

i bought a 97 and put 40 k on it in a year no problems. the only reason i sold it was to buy my mark. i like rwd

i never buy wrong wheel drive cars they are not "better"" in snow. although they will make a marginal driver better. a full tank of gas and a couple bags of sand and my old Vega went anywhere and that was the worst car in snow. but for a driver the conti o.k.

A follow up on my previous response. I had 2 96's and a 97, with all I never experienced tranny problems, all shifted well. The only issues I could remeber having was one had developed a exhaust leak at the manifold and was to costly for me to fix it or get it fixed, so I sold it to a Mexican that had dreams that were worth 1 million but with a bank roll of only 2 G's. The other two I did experience a air ride sensor issue, and a coolant fan caught fire while at Subway. But overall great rides with 4 drs.

IDK my Conti was definatly better in the snow than my Mark VIII, I'm also looking around for Explorers I'd like a 2002-2005 but I'm trying to get something I can pay cash for with no loan

Conti = Sports car in black tie. Or some say. There are very few Contis that I like the look of, but the one linked is one I do.

The black grille has a special meaning I think.
