My interior drivers side door handle will not open the door. I pulled the panels off and it appears the cable is not broke or otherwise not working. The mechanism on the handle itself appears in good working order.

Any thoughts??? Much appreciated!

Is it only from the inside? If so, it's a small plastic piece on the inside by the lock. You'll have to replace the handle. If the cable is good I'd be 99% sure that's your problem.
Search- door won't open. And you'll find many threads on this.

Common issue on the ls. Its the latch is broken here is one trick when pulling the handle also pull the lock latch with it this will open the door. For a example on how it suppose to go look at the other passenger size door and look at the lock latch and when you pull on the open latch it actually moves the lock latch with it. The plastic that connects this two on the other door is broken that's why you can't open it.

IF its not that..blast some wd40 into the door poping mechanisim that the cable leads too. u wont even need to remove the door pannel...i did and also took the aircompressor to it first... icant even explain how much dust and tiny debree came out...then i lubed it up real nice a few times over n no more issue ont he DS.
NOW though the dam PS lock will not move unless u manually reach over n do it urself, the electronic system cant push it over. i have a hard time using my hands even, im assuiming same issue...i just havnt tried yet..

+1 on Geldtron's post, I did the same.

I always said the LS just loved me so much it didn't want to let me out.

Lol, I did that when I replaced the broken handle on my old 00. One of the guys that worked with me would laugh at me cause I went most of the winter with a broken door handle. One day my windows were still froze shut when I got to work. He seen me trying to get out , and after laughing hysterically he opened it and I escaped. He must have felt bad for me , he stayed after that day to drill out the rivit. I had a new handle in 30 minutes. But for two years I parked in our back lot. Sometimes in the summer I would leave my Windows cracked, not realizing that saw dust and fines travel and settle in the tiniest of places. I was still green at that time. My doors had so much stuff in them! Now I park in the the front lot and Never leave my windows down. I haven't drug out the 3/4 " air hose ( at 100 lbs per 50' heavy chit! ) to my car all year!!
