I forgot to get a 23mm socket from orielly so I'm waiting on a ride. So I thought I'd take some pics and let you guys see the carnage that is my rear hubs.

I've been able to hear my right rear for a while and bought replacement parts a while ago. So I'm finally getting around to doing it. Plus I need to return one of the hubs while it has sat on the shelf it has rusted and pitted a small part of the hub.

In the pics notice that on one side the part of the retainer nut that goes over the front has rusted off on one side and on the other side the that same part is completely missing.

So without further ado.... (sorry about the blurriness)

Not fun so far. With the outer flanges of the crush nut off it's no longer 36mm. Have to go back to autozone and rent a 34, and a 35. Back waiting for a ride again. LOL

On the good side. It's been soaking in PB blaster for a while.

Mine look the same, Luckily i'm noise free back there, for now..

You using a impact? Worse case scenerio is you have to buy new half shafts.

Mine were that bad....soaked with good penetrating spray, pounded axle nut socket on and off she came....had a couple better nuts used those one old shafts and no prOblem. Been 15,000 kms not a issue, but when I do gears and 255lph fuel pump it will get new shafts and new nuts as well as new wheel bearings even though there good

No, actually putting back on everything to back her into the garage to get back at it tomorrow.

Using a crowbar to brace the hub-rotation against the ground. I don't have an impact that is good enough.

What ya gonna do with a "23" mm socket back there?

My bad. I thought it was a 33mm and it was a slip of the finger but actually it's a 36mm and on top of that with the outer crush nut off it's more like a 34.

Didn't get it finished today. Tomorrow I'll re-rent the 36 and 34mm and go at it again.

On the good side the PB blaster will have 24 hrs to soak.

I've also found the brake pads on one side unevenly wearing.

This is how I'm bracing the rotation with both back tires off the ground.

Make sure that you DO NOT install that nut with an impact, torque it to 176 ft lbs BY HAND

did you have the wheel down when you torqued that nut down. When I did the front's. I torqued down while the car was in the air first then put her down.
