Crankcase hose needed or not?

I have an 04 3.0 and the hose on the manifold that leads to the driver valve cover broke. I did a temporary fix with some hose from home depot because of the hurricane here. The hose apparently bends in heat so it became useless and the car stalled...

But I forgot cant I just disconnect it for now and plug the manifold hole?

No, it is needed if you don't want to blow your seals.
