my car needs some but dont know which one it has, does anybody know which one it needs
cooling fan fluid

According to page 248 of the '01 Owner's Guide ( http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/tech/Lincoln-LS/2001LincolnLS-OwnersManual.pdf ), the hydraulic cooling fan uses MERCON ATF; this should be the same for all 1st Gen LSes. 2nd gen LSes have electic cooling fans, so they have no fluid specification for that.
