After a few years of having the Low Coolant warning pop up on my 93 Mark VIII, which would go for many months with out then coming on again and never having any issues with the cooling of the engine. But once in awhile she'd be low on coolant, but never having a puddle or finding a leak.

I have found a small amount of coolant near the oil filter. I'm wondering if it's coming from the oil filter adaptor? I didn't see coolant anywhere else. Just on some of the parts just below the oil filter.

I'm thinking that there is a small leak in the area. Could the Oil Filter Adapter Gasket need to be replaced? Could that cause a leak of Coolant?

I'm wondering if the cooler temps could have cause the leak around the gasket?

Hey Rich

Yes that can be coolant leaking...the top port is for the coolant from that hose that connects to it. The gasket is just a few bucks $9.74 your cost, F6AZ-6840-AA is the p/number plenty of stock on hand.
