The compass window in my rearview has decided that I'm always going East. Has anyone else experienced a single direction compass? Any solution?

if i were you, i'd unplug it, wait awhile, plug it back in, then drive in a circular motion for about 15 seconds. at least that's how to calibrate a gentex mirror (installed in my old Taurus). Hope it helps.

I once noticed that I was driving south for a long period of time. I was obviously driving North in this instance, but it worked itself out. I don't really follow the compass all that much.

Make sure you have the compass zone set correctly based on where you live. The earth's magnetic field is different depending on your location in the country, and the mirrror's compass can adjust for that. To do this, you'll need the little chart that is in the manual to tell you what zone your location is in.

Like most everything else on the LS, the mirror is expensive. This is due to the dimming feature. If the above adjustment doesn't work, you can replace the mirror, or just live with it.

UPDATE---
I turned the mirror off and just left it, after I had the problem. Today I turned it back on and it works fine.

That's almost the equivalent of a 'wall-job.' (That's when a dealer parks the car by a wall for a couple of days, and hopes it fixes itself) In this case it even worked!!! Thanks for the suggestion ILLS!
