I currently have a puncture in my stock air box. Since I have to replace the air box, I was thinking if putting an after market cold Air intake. http://m.ebay.com/itm/281554958532?fits=Make:Lincoln|Model:LS I was looking at this one. Here is a link http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AbX8whYPP_g to a YouTube video that I found that someone uploaded of this particular cold air intake with an LS. I currently have 2002 lincoln LS 3.0 v6 all factory stock. My questions are;
1. Do I need to tune (recalibrate) the Engine Computer United?
2. How much HP will I gain, if any
3. Will it improve or make my MPG worse?
4. Is a short cold air intake like the one above better, or the long one that goes down close to the ground better? What's the difference between both style. Pros and cons.
5. What would you recommend. ( Go back to stock or use after market Air intake. Which ones works best with my LS.
6. Will it be smog legal (I'm in southern California).
7. What else can I do to increase HP and increase MPG.
Thanks in advance.
