2001 LS V8
I have been getting a check eng but i guess it called emission light. the lite goes on and stays on for a few days to a week and then goes off. the car does seem to idle a litte odd sometimes. I took my predator tuner from my lightning and looked at the codes. there were two:

P0153
02 Circuit slow response (Bank 2, Sensor 1)

P0171
System to lean (Bank 1)

Is this a bad O2 sensor and if so how many do these cars have and which one is bank 2 sensor 1?

I would think the second code is due to the first code. any help would be great. thanks...Mac

There are 4 O2 sensors. But I couldn't tell you which is which.

Bank 1 is the passenger side; Bank 2, Sensor 1 is the "front" O2 sensor on the driver's side. I don't remember if it's in the cat or in the downpipe.

No cylinder one is on the right side, or passenger side.

Sensor 1 is pre-cat. If you have a jack and jack stands then you should be able to change on you own.

The pre-cat snesors are the ones that provide feedback data on A/F mix. The post cats provide insight as to how well the cats are performing

just replaced the two front O2 they were only $45 each. I also found the cracked line that was after the maf fixed that and cleared all the codes, changed oil and cleaned the maf. took it on a 100 mile cruse no codes no problems she runs nice and smooth again. thanks for the help guys

The firing order is posted around here somewhere, and yes, cylinder #1 is in bank #1; both are on the passenger side, as noted above.
