I got my clockspring replaced today. For all of those who steering wheel radio controls and cruise control stopped working, this is the answer. Also, my horn works again and those dreaded 5 beeps after a startup have stopped. I'm feeling great right now.

How was the experience, was it easy to replace, I plan on doing this after my coils and spark plugs, and gaskets.

This means that your SRS (airbag) system is now fully operational again. However, do be aware that your SRS light in the instrument cluster is still burned out. If you are in an inspection required area, you will still fail. Apparently, the bulb is replaceable, it's just not real easy.

is it easy to take the bulb out lol cause i hate the flashes:D

For those about to do the job

It's fairly easy, I did mine in about 90 minutes with coffee break and feeding the cat. The hard part is, it is so tight in there. You must pull off the connectors then drop the unit because the unit has plastic pins which line up with holes to keep it secure and in place. You might need a puller to remove the steering wheel too. REMOVE the power from the battery before doing this job. Wait 10 minutes or so after removing power. You must remove the air bag when doing this job, you don't want it to explode on you. So just be safe. Also keep everything marked and straight lined up so you don't mess up the alignment of anything.

my light stays solid after the flashes, does your beep go away lol maybe we could trade

no what im saying is, if you pull the light bulb out, the car will beep every time you get in to it, I think that would be a lot more annoying than the light just being on.

my favorite fix for this is when people just put a small piece of electrical tape over the spot on the cluster where the light is. the other day a car came in with half of the cluster covered in tape, the guy said it didn't bother him a bit that the lights were on however he didn't want his daughter to worry that something was wrong with her car (since she just turned 16). i laughed until i cried.

If you have an SRS problem (you do, that's why the light is on) and you remove the blub, then you will get a series of five beeps and a pause for five times, each time you start the car.

Yeah 25 beeps total everytime you start the thing. I still haven't changed my bulb or fixed the fault. Never have time to dedicate.
