Hello all. New here but not to LS ownership. My 02 is in need of it's second CS....first was at 55k and now it's needing another at 107K. I can only find one as low as $142 online (first one I got was $105 but supplier no longer stocks). Was wondering if anyone has a line on them for less from a reputable source. I'm sure other LS owners would appreciate the heads-up also.

Ford parts shows this item for $140 through the dealer. If you know someone, you should be able to get a discount. If not, it never hurts to ask. I have been buying parts from the dealer for so long, I am now sometimes getting wholesale prices. Not to mention, OEM parts are usually superceded with improved ones, when there is a known issue. 55k seems awful short lived for a clockspring. These things are "keyed" to only come off/go on, one way. But if your steering wheel is off 1 rotation, you will put undo stress on the daisy cable, and shorten its life. Aftermarket parts quality is usually a step backwards from OEM, so don't look for the cheapest option. Remember... you have an explosive pillow sitting 18" from your face!!! ALWAYS DICONNECT THE BATTERY WHEN WORKING ON ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM, AND DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS RECONNECTED PROPERLY BEFORE RECONNECTIONG THE BATTERY.
