I have a 2000 LS-8 and get this message on my dash: Check rear brake light. I can't seem to find my owner's manual (normally in my glovebox but I removed it prior to my last detailing!).

Of course, my left rear brake light is working fine. Any ideas on how to reset the message center? Thanks in advance. :)

the only way i know to reset it is when it appears click the reset button. What about your right brake light is it working fine.

Both brake lights are working fine. When I hit reset, it works until I re-start the car and get this same message again.

I'm still looking for my owner's manual but I think the ex tossed it out.

i've looked through my owners manual and there is NOTHING in there that is going to help us out on this one.

Sorry :(

Well your running lights may be working but are you sure your brake lights are working? They are a dual filament bulb, if the brake filament is gone the light will appear to work but when you press the brake pedal the light will go out.

I had my girlfriend check it the first time--maybe I'll allow her to get behind the wheel and actually depress the brake pedal this time, while I check it. Am I a little paranoid about anyone driving my car?!
