Got it for 100 bucks.. Bought a trans for 100 with clutch, pressure plate, to bearing. Put the mark vii wheels on it.

I had one for my first work truck, I loved it, great gas mileage, no maintence required, don't have to worry about denting or scratching it. For $100, thats a hell of a deal.

Hell yeah. I went to the junlyard for cab brackets today because its sagging a little. Paid 17 bucks for 2. Just needs a mirror. Im loving the fact that it takes 5 quarts of oil vs the 6.5 my mark and lightning take.

That one take the 8 spark plugs also? That was the only thing gay about mine, pulling everything off the top of the engine to change 8 plugs on 4 cylinders, lol

hey now. It's not a beater. It's a learning experience/project. I want to learn body work and paint. And what a perfect truck.

I just got myself a full size bronco as my winter beater..... not quite the truck to get good gas mileage tho lol.

ive had a bunch of fords, broncos, trucks, etc.

Nice score for 100 bucks.

Rangers are good trucks. I'll be getting either one or a taurus as a daily in the next few months. I like the idea of having a truck again so i can put stuff in it, but i like how comfy and cheap a 96 style taurus is as well.

Awesome deal!! I want an F-150 for the winter. Str8 6 with 4wd. The cool thing about having $250 into your truck is you really can't lose money on it. It's worth more in scrap.

almost positive that old will only be 4 spark plugs, and wtf you "removed everything off the top of the eng"? on the dual plug 2.3's i use a extension and a swivel plug socket and snake it through, dont take off nothin but plug wires

well the NA single plug 2.3's made 90 HP
wheras the twin plub NA 2.3's made 108 HP

I guess that 18 extra HP was GAY as well?
Hell that's almost a 20% HP increase over the previous 2.3's.

You dont have to pull all that shift off if the plug wires come off easily. But usually they dont.

It's a dual plug. Last year for the sqaure body style. It is a pig though. Slower than efffffff:eek:

My friend had a 89 ranger with the 2.3 and a 5 speed.... slowest car I have ever been in lol. Overdrive you could floor it on the highway and it would decelerate if you were going up any kind of incline.

WTF?! really? never NEVER seen that, and ive worked on LOTS of the square body ranger
Yeah. These odometers max out at 99,999 and it says 45,000. Judging by the shape of the truck I'm assuming it's 145k because the under body is good, brake lines are spotless and the exhaust is intact with the exception of the ORIGINAL muffler. Oh and radius arm bushings are original.

I have a perfectly good muffler and tail pipe off my 85 Ranger if it will work you can have it. It's been in the garage rafters !
