My check engine light came on a couple weeks ago and came up with a misfire for cylinder 5, put a new coil pack in and still does it, any suggestions.

Also the check engine light came on today with 2 codes 181 which is Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance and code 497 but 497 isnt in the book and i cant find it online, has anyone had this code or know what it is?

Those arent any sort of routine codes we've seen on the forum, to my knowledge.

How is the car running? Also, beware of tossing money at parts by just going by CEL codes. Sometimes one faulty part may cause a downstream issue where a non faulty part is "blamed" by a CEL. Only real way to diagnose some of those types of issues is via the expensive dealership computer.
Sometimes.

Those aren't valid OBD II codes. We can't help without the real OBDII codes. They will always be in a format of a single letter followed by four digits.

going back to the misfire, did you have oil on your coil boot? Also did you change the spark plug?

I changed all the spark plugs but only the one coil pack, and there was liitle oil on some of the plugs

If you had oil on some of the plugs then your valve cover gaskets are leaking. It's just a matter of time before another coil starts to go out. This is a common problem. You need to replace the gaskets and go ahead and replace all of the COPs while you are in there.

Thanks, also the ODB II codes are p0497, p0181, and p07E5

I kept getting a misfire on #7... but it turned out to be a different one. Try switching them around.
Or the old fashioned method, with the car running, pull the coil... you should hear clicking. If so, it's working.

Thanks, also the ODB II codes are p0497, p0181, and p07E5

P0497 Evaporative Emission System Low Purge Flow

P0181 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

P07E5 invalid code. Only digits 0 - 9 are allowed for the last four digits.
