I was at a stop light tonite when the check engine light illuminated. I checked the codes and it was a P0174 (System Too Lean(bank 2)). What should that lead me to look at?? Thanks.

02 sensors.

Thank you

Thats what I thought, but I wanted confirmation before going for it. I havent gotten a service book on this car yet, they have 4 O2 sensors right? And should I change all four?

depends on the year non-obd II only have 2, obd II's have 4.

mine is a 98

Mines a 98, hence OBD2. What I'm not sure of is should I change all 4 or is the likely culprit either the fronts or the rears.......

Makes sense to me

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it. Now I have to decide if want to do it myself in January in Rhode Island with no garage or pay someone else to do it.

Wow this post was resurrected 3 years to the day after I made it. FWIW my prob was a vacuum leak on thew IAC IIRC.

and "another" lean bank # problem solved that turned out to be a vacuum leak.

This is getting more and more common with the lean codes..

Take it to a good technician to see if its really 02 sensors or a bad vacum leak

Helllo everyone,

I have the same check engine light. Check the codes and it came up as code 176 02 sensor bank 2. Which side is Bank 2?
