Check engine light on and wierd feeling as wel as loss of power??

Ok, WTF.... Really wierd. As im driving normaly, the check engine comes on and i feel a shake from the front or something wierd. I give it gas it feels sluggish and wont shift up and then it shifts up, when I come to a stop, the engine is louder and sounds different, when i give it gas from a stop sign, the engine becomes quieter but then starts feeling sluggish, any clues?? its a 2002 that just turned 100k

so I just got it checked it at the dealer and I was told the P0303 cyl 3 misfire and its all filled with oil and it needs the passanger side valve cover gasket as well as 2 boots, coils are fine. The car shakes ones in highest gear around 45mph, the car shakes bad, could it just be the cyl 3 misfire?? Also, does anyone have DIY instructions on the Valve Cover Gasket job??

What the dealer says sounds about right. Check the tech articles section for DIY instructions. I think it is there. If not, do some searching through the forum as this has been discussed many times before.

If you have a misfire on 3 then the number 3 coil is dead. If you feel up to it, do the drivers side gaskets at the same time. And if you're smart, do all 8 coils at the same time as well. It will save you trouble down the road. Me I'm not smart Ive been changing them out one at a time since I got my LS.

Well, im doing the passanger side valve cover gasket, just took it out, gonna put the new one in tomorrow.
