i thought it would be nice to have a sticky thread where it includes modifications in which you can do to your mark viii for free or for the working mans salary. so who wants to contribute?

Air silencer removal (may not be performance, but a mod nonetheless)

Sensor lowering

Cutting off mufflers

painting calipers

Im sure ill think of more later

also not a performance mod, but you can replace the orange turn signal bulbs with clear ones. they look way better. spraying nightshades on the tail lights also looks great and is a rather inexpensive mod.

you pull-it SC or even a tbird with handling package rear sway bar.....cost me $5 and stiffened up my car

jmod (I did a shift kit, less than $150), trans cooler (less than $80), 1000 cca battery and a 200 amp alternator (less than $300), 245/50-16's (you are gonna have to replace the tires and battery in a few years anyway, improve them). Higher capacity alternator insures no electrical gremlins that these cars get as the stock system gets older. Swiss-cheese the front of the stock airbox with a hole saw lowers the intake temp and is a slight ram-air effect at 'speed. Provide the labor and do a walbro 255, less than $250. +1 on sawing off the mufflers, I have 'quiet ' cars, my Mark sounds GREAT with the mufflers removed.

If you want to actually be respectfully quick it costs money with these cars. But I'd say cutting off the mufflers, intake silencer removal, jmod and or baumann kit, and sc sway bar would be a good start.
