My car is going to need new tires soon and ive seen that 235/50/17 tire's are kinda expensive , 245/45/17 is a lot cheaper.

what do you think about it , how much would it affect ride/handling abs systems ?
im thinking of getting the potenza RE-01R if i get the 245 or the firestone oval if i get the 235.

Im running 245 45 17s up front on my car and they have been fine. You just have to remember that the 245 45 is a shorter tire by about 1.4 cm overall and this will make your speedometer read slightly higher. It'll be high by something like 1.5 mph at 60.

BTW if you want a suggestion on tires, go with Continental. They're made in Germany, and tested on the Autobahn. Just don't buy the Contact A/S.

Also remeber it will bring a different appreance to the stance of the vehicle. Some say its noticable some say its not. If you are looking for great tires at a cheap price Federal brand tires from what I hear are very, very good.

I was thinking about getting a set a while back but I never got around to it and got a new wheel and tire package anyway.

IMO the way the factory tire size mushrooms out a bit reminds me of a Jeep.

Welcome!!

One of the nice things having an Xcal, I can change the computer tier diameter to correct speed reading.

I just put a set of BFG g-force Super Sport A/S's on mine, and I love them. They really stick in the dry, and are way better than the stock Michelin's were in the wet!
Like '97 said, they are a bit shorter. About 1/4" in ride ht, from stock.

i have the falken 912 tires and i love them they are excelent in wet and dry conditions, as far as road softness they are as good as the michilin pilot mmx4but they are a tad noisier than the michilin pilot mmx4 but for the price they are great, this is what you do, these cost $89 per tire and sears carries them but for alot more but they have price matching, use this website link and print out the tires and go to sears and have them price match them. thats what i did and it works.

I went with a set of the Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge tires because all-seasonality and a smooth, quiet ride were most important to me. Initially I was drawn to the unique tread pattern (which does look aggressive from the rear view of the car) but after researching them I was sold. I live in Minnesota and I can attest that these tires actually handle better in cornering, snow, rain, and ice situations than the factory Michelin Pilots that were on my '02 LSE when I bought it. And at a better price too.

Got them a year ago at Discount Tire with replacement certificates for right around $800. I would recommend them to anybody who owns an LS.
