Can you change the main bearings in the 02 ls's without pulling the motor?

I am thinking about removing the pan, loosing the main caps and slide the new ones in?

Reason: I think they have started to spin for some unknown reason

I've never had a main bearing spin on me, rod bearings are another story. I have the v6 and I know it would be extremely tricky to do it in frame. It would be real hard to get a torque wrench in there too so that would be an issue for me.

FYI You CANNOT change rod or main bearings that have spun without having crank ground. It also effects the hole that holds bearing also. Line bore or hone. The spun bearing will "eat" up the clean journal surface so if you where to put new bearing inserts in they would just fail in minutes. Don't do it.
