Well, I finally got around to finding a really good deal on an 01 center console to replace my 00 one with the cup holder. Looking at it, it looks like a pretty straight-forward job.

However, I was wondering if anybody has done this and also hooked up the rear power outlet up too. My 00 doesn't have one in the back so I figure there's no connection there for it. Has anyone done this or know how to do it. I could really use an extra power port. But if I can't, finally being able to drink my coffee in the morning without it spilling will be good enough.

+1! I'd love to swap consoles. My '00 has the folding cup holders and it won't shut anymore. Somebody give us some info on doing the swap!

For the 00-02's; the console is 2 piece, a top and bottom. If you are using the 2000 bottom piece with the 01-02 top piece there will be a small gap behind the e-brake. It's a cut-out for the 2000 cup holders to be able to flip up. I know bigpappy33 has a thread on here about it, should be able to find it.

I believe BIGPAPPY33 did this last year.

Okay, I just did the swap and it's literally like a 5 - 10 minute job if you just swap the top part containing the cup holders since everything snaps off and back on without any need for screws or bolts. But, I have a few pointers if you're going to do it and still want some input on the power point.

1. It only takes 5 minutes if you're just going to swap the top half of the console but you're going to end up with a little gap like shown on the first picture. So, it's probably best to swap the entire console. I'm going to go back and redo everything with the entire console.

2. You may need to swap your traction control buttons between the consoles. If you look at the picture (one is blurry) you'll see that they actually use 2 different harnesses.

3. If you want to utilize the power point, we're going to need some more input. There was a guy on another forum that said he knew how to do this but he left the post in 2001 and his email doesn't work anymore. So somebody has done it before I know. I'm dying to get that part of swap working too, so if anybody has any suggestions - please input. I left some pictures of that too.

If anybody wants, I can post the pictures from the entire job once I go back and swap the bottom half of the console. I don't like that gap.
