Newbie here, awesome site. I am hoping you all can help. My wife's 2000 LS V8 hit 120k on the odometer last week, and the check engine light is now on (again) and it tries to fall on its face when I get a heavy foot. also, it's died on her a couple times at random. So we pulled the code, and its telling us that the driver side cat converter is bad. So, I would like to just cut the old out and put a new one in, but I am having trouble finding an aftermarket replacement. everyone wants to sell me the entire down pipe with the cat on it. After already spending a #"*! load of money on other stuff under the hood (gaskets, coils, plugs, etc.) I would like to catch a break here if i can. Please advise. Also, maybe a dumb question, but if i put an aftermarket high flow in its place, am i screwing anything up by leaving the stock cat on the passenger side? Thanks for your help.
