i think i am the next to change my c.c.

on my passenger side i can hear a rattle, sounds like it comes from the engine area, i took my valve cover off to check the timing and everything looks in new condition, i put everything back and tried the car again, same noise, at first its a whine with a small rattle, then after the car revs and warms the noise comes and goes, a loud rattle, i put my hand on the converter to check the temp and to pinpoint the noise and all i found out was pushing and pulling on the converter changes the noise of the rattle so im "assuming" the converter is bad. it feels and sound like an exhaust problem, but im not 100% positive, i do know its not the timing chain or parts. any help is appreciated.... also if i do have to change the c.c. i may try the delete with both sides and wires up the post o2's so i dont get a cel. i am planning on a straight pipe but may just leave the old converters in place, but just cut them in half and hollow them out and see how it sounds :D

I was gonna say maybe a heatshield, but if you were down there I guess you'd have noticed that.

well i dont know if its the heat shield, havent gone under the car to much, its cold and snowing a little, but i think its an exhaust issue... when i put my hand on the cat the noise changed and when i pushed on it back and forth the noise changed, so i think i narrowed it down to that area, so ill be sure to check the shield and parts in that area thanks

has anyone had a rattle noise in the cat area that was the cat or the shield before?

My drivers side cat rattles like it has a hand full of change in it. I put a engine stethoscope on the cat and that was how I pin pointed it.
